Tax filing companies, I suppose predictably, are lobbying hard to make sure filing your taxes isn't made easier. What is really great is that the reason it's so complicated in the first place is lobbying. Different interest groups lobby for special deductions, and taken together that makes the law more complicated and difficult and hurts everyone. But apparently not everyone, there's actually a lobby to hurt everyone by making filing your taxes difficult.
